About
I take electrical voltages and turn them into undulating, layered, textural compositions. This is usually accomplished with an ever-expanding modular video synthesizer system, but it can also incorporate video feedback, AI image generation and processing, and liquid light show techniques.
Growing up in suburban Pittsburgh, PA, where I currently live and work, I absorbed many inspirations from the mass media and the early internet including: MTV intersitials, demoscene animations, screensavers, and mid-90s audiovisualizers. Other strong influences include: rave and concert live projections, wallpaper design, surrealism, op art, guilloché, and other mathematical means for creating patterns and textures.
My art practice is largely self-taught, though I hold a bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Rochester Institute of Technolgy and a Master's in Library and Information Science from The University of British Columbia.
